Terms of service

Last updated 26 August 2026

Plain terms for a small product. Using Spell & Sum means agreeing to these. If something here seems unreasonable, email hello@spellandsum.com and say so.

What this is

Spell & Sum generates printable maths worksheets. You configure a sheet, we produce a PDF, you print it. That is the whole service.

Your account

You need an account to download. You must be an adult, and the account is yours to keep secure — sign-in links go to your email, so anyone with access to that mailbox can sign in. One account is for one household.

The free tier

Free accounts may download 3 sheets a week, counted in your own time zone, and those sheets carry a small link to this site in the footer. Answer keys do not count against the allowance.

Subscription, trial and billing

Refunds

If it did not work for you, email within 30 days of a charge and we will refund it. No argument, no form.

What you may do with the sheets

Anything reasonable. Print them, photocopy them, give them to your kids, hand them to a friend, use them in a classroom or a tutoring session. The worksheets are yours. You may not resell them as a product, or scrape the service to build a competing library.

Fair use

Subscriptions are unlimited in the ordinary sense of the word. Automated bulk generation, sharing one account across an organisation, or hammering the service is not that, and we may suspend an account doing it — after getting in touch first, unless something is on fire.

Availability, and the honest bit

This is a small product run by one person. It should be up, and it is looked after, but there is no uptime guarantee. The service is provided as is. Where the law allows us to limit liability, our total liability is capped at what you paid in the last twelve months — which is at most $19.99.

The maths is generated by software and checked by automated tests, but if you find a wrong answer key, please tell us. We will fix it.

Ending things

You can stop and delete your account whenever you like — see Privacy. We can close an account that breaks these terms, and would refund the unused part of a subscription if we did.

Changes

These terms may change. Material changes are emailed to account holders before they take effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States.
